Doubles Doubles the epicness!

Since Hoops and Yoyo have been talking a lot about singles matches recently, we thought it would be fun to take a look at the doubles results today, since there was a really epic one.

Dear Bob and Mike found a really epic way to lose their semifinal match against Moodie and Norman. That reminds us of Andy's amazing match against Troicki last year. That being said, this match deserves two awards: Moodie and Norman get "The Hoops & Yoyo's Epic Bagel Award" and Bob&Mike get "The Hoops & Yoyo's Epic Choke Award". Congrats guys, the 4 of you are just amazing!!!

Though Bob wasn't satisfied with only one award. We understand, the more the best. So he fought hard to get the mixed doubles title and hope we are both in a good mood to give him another award... So, here you go, Bobby! You get "The Hoops & Yoyo's At Least I Won Something Award"!

Hope to see you guys tomorrow with more epic stuff! Off to the cloud!

A less eventful day

Wednesday was a bit less epic than the other days especially in Paris.

We have only one H&Y tennis award today and it goes to Serena and Sveta. We think it's very rare to watch a WTA match with more than 15 games, and they made it to 37. And although 37 ain't as cool as 257, we can still give them "The Hoops And Yoyo Epic Fighting Spirit Award". Sveta won the match but Serena was really happy too because she finally won a H&Y award. Well done!

We also found a really epic video yesterday. Starring our fav band EVER, the JB. We must say that we're pretty disappointed to see that the Hoops and Yoyo dancing lessons didn't help the guy in the video and those heels aren't helping either. You can watch the epic video here. Maybe next time you'll put on a better performance. We can't wait until your new album!

Tuesday's Bagel Fest

Hoops and Yoyo are extremely proud of two players today. Not only because they can play awesome tennis, but because they can provide us really epic stuff to write about.

We are very disappointed to tell you our all-time favorite Muscles lost his quarterfinal match against Gonzo. We really wanted him to win RG to prove to the whole world a british hero could win a huge title on clay... But instead he figured winning a Hoops & Yoyo award meant more to him than a GS title. Well, yeah, in some ways. That's why Muscles gets the so loved "Hoops and Yoyo Epic Bagel Award". See you on clay next year, dear Andy!

On the other hand, Maria Sharapova had a few epic matches at this RG, but we msut confess they weren't enough for her to get a Hoops & Yoyo award. So she made a really impressive effort to get the most important Hoops and Yoyo award of all: the Double Bagel Award. She got close. Really close. Fine. Since nothing really epic-exciting happened apart from the 2 Ms, I guess we can give her "The Hoops and Yoyo Epic Bagel and a Half Award". Congrats, Maria!

It's Just Another Manic Monday

Monday at the Roland Garros brought us even more epicness.

After Tommy Haas won the first two sets he realized that winning a H&Y award means much more to him than beating Roger so he lost the next three sets in a spectacular way. That's why we give Tommy "The Hoops And Yoyo Epic Choke Award". But that's not the only award Tommy gets for his performance. For the fourth set he won "The Hoops And Yoyo Epic Bagel Award", too! Congrats, Tommy! We are proud of you!

The third match on Court Lenglen was one of our all-time favorites. Jelena Jankovic aka the Master of short matches tried really hard to
  • win an award
  • get on our nerves.
She was successful! Today she gets the SHARED "Hoops And Yoyo Epic Bagel Award". We also wanted to give her "The Hoops And Yoyo Longest WTA Match Ever Award" but the third set wasn't 257-255 so we won't give it to her this time. Maybe next time when you play before Andy! Keep up the good work, Jelena!

When Jelena was finally beaten after almost three hours Roddick finally started his match against Monfils. Andy lost the first set easily after masterfully executing the very same game plan which Larry described in every article (aka being aggressive). Then during the second set he started complaining that it's too dark to play. But bradgilbertly they didn't stop the match in France against a FrAnch player. He lost the second set even more easily - game plan still excellent. He was fighting in the third but after he showed everyone that "there are clouds in the sky" he finally gave up and lost. Andy gets "The Hoops And Yoyo I Can't See The Ball Award". We must mention that although Monfils was very very nice during the match but the handshake was really bittersweet because Monfils also wanted to win an award. Stay as nice as you already are, Gael and maybe one day we will be able to give you an award!

Back on Sunday Mr and Mrs Roddick showed us on Twitter how they couldn't find a laundry in France so they had to wash Andy's clothes in their hotel room. We are really proud of Brooklyn teaching Andy how to do these things but it didn't really bring him luck against Monfils. We suggest to find a laundry next time on Saturday. We still give Andy and Brooklyn "The Hoops And Yoyo's Favorite Epic Twitter Couple Award".

Finally we must share the trailer of the movie EVEN Hoops and Yoyo can't wait to see. Click here to watch it.

That was Monday we are now off to the cloud...
